RENEWED victorianThis stately Victorian on a quite tree-lined street had integrity in its bones. All it wanted was a new outfit that went with current times a little better. Removing a wall in the foyer and relocating an office door made the living space easier to navigate and gave it a sense of openness. Lighter sage and blue color scheme replaced the yellows and browns and is nicely complemented by the hand scraped dark wood floors. Chicago-made custom cabinets, fireplace built-ins, and the mantel add that special something the house needed. At the same time, carefully selected lighting playfully unifies the clean lines of the contemporary furniture with the decidedly Victorian tall ceilings and large wooden trim. |
